Mona left this afternoon and I miss her already. We went to the river together today and it was very enjoyable. I really grew to love her in this short period of time. She was the most vibrant German I’ve ever met. She is so happy and colorful and always laughing. She was a really special person! I’d say she is my favorite German I’ve ever met but I really loved Klaus too, he was also a special kid. One of the hardest parts about traveling is having to say goodbye to the people you grow to love. I’ve met so many great people in my travels, I wish I could put all my favorite ones in my pocket and take them with me everywhere I go. I had the skype interview for the Colorado build today. I’m 99.9% sure I got accepted. I’m so excited! I also got a blog post done about planting trees. After Mona left I watched two movies so it was really relaxing day off. Tomorrow is my last day of work. My time here felt like it went by really quickly. I found out that Marahangia means “to breathe garden air” in Maori. I thought that was nice. I made travel arrangements for after my next farm. I will go spend two nights in Taupo and hike the Tongariro Crossing, then two nights in Wellington before I fly out to see Matt. That way I can see the Te Papa museum. I can’t believe I’ve already been here for over a month and a half. It’s been a whole year since I was in Hawaii that blows my mind! Hopefully this time next year I’ll be in Tanzania. What beautiful journeys life is taking me on, I feel so grateful!
